Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion.Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah. (Surah Al-Baqara, 120)
And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world: And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous (Surah Al-Baqara, 130)
They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah." (Surah Al-Baqara, 135)
Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks.And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (Surah Al-Baqara, 256)
The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them|.But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account. (Surah Al-Imran, 19)
Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah.-while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam), and to Him shall they all be brought back. (Surah Al-Imran, 83)
If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah., never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good). (Surah Al-Imran, 85)
Say: "(Allah) speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans." (Surah Al-Imran, 95)
Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith.If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. (Surah An-Nisa, 46)
Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend. (Surah An-Nisa, 125)
O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth.Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles.Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah.Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son.To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth.And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs. Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah.that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety.This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me.This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Maida, 3)
O ye who believe! if any from among you turn back from his Faith, soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love as they will love Him,- lowly with the believers, mighty against the rejecters, fighting in the way of Allah, and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault.That is the grace of Allah, which He will bestow on whom He pleaseth.And Allah encompasseth all, and He knoweth all things. (Surah Al-Maida, 54)
O ye who believe! take not for friends and protectors those who take your religion for a mockery or sport,- whether among those who received the Scripture before you, or among those who reject Faith; but fear ye Allah, if ye have faith (indeed). (Surah Al-Maida, 57)
Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world.But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah.if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah. (Surah Al-Anam, 70)
Say: "Verily, my Lord hath guided me to a way that is straight,- a religion of right,- the path (trod) by Abraham the true in Faith, and he (certainly) joined not gods with Allah." (Surah Al-Anam, 161)
Even so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their "partners" made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion.If Allah had willed, they would not have done so: But leave alone them and their inventions. (Surah Al-Anam, 137)
As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, thou hast no part in them in the least: their affair is with Allah.He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did. (Surah Al-Anam, 159)
"Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world." That day shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our signs. (Surah Al-Araf, 51)
The leaders, the arrogant party among his people, said: "O Shu'aib! we shall certainly drive thee out of our city - (thee) and those who believe with thee; or else ye (thou and they) shall have to return to our ways and religion." He said: "What! even though we do detest (them)? (Surah Al-Araf, 88)
"We should indeed invent a lie against Allah, if we returned to your ways after Allah hath rescued us therefrom; nor could we by any manner of means return thereto unless it be as in the will and plan of Allah, Our Lord.Our Lord can reach out to the utmost recesses of things by His knowledge.In the Allah is our trust.our Lord! decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide." And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do. (Surah Al-Anfal, 39)
Lo! the hypocrites say, and those in whose hearts is a disease: "These people,- their religion has misled them." But if any trust in Allah, behold! Allah is Exalted in might, Wise. (Surah Al-Anfal, 49)
Those who believed, and adopted exile, and fought for the Faith, with their property and their persons, in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) friends and protectors, one of another.As to those who believed but came not into exile, ye owe no duty of protection to them until they come into exile; but if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them, except against a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance.And (remember) Allah seeth all that ye do. (Surah Al-Anfal, 72)
But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand. (Surah At-Tawba, 11)
But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained. (Surah At-Tawba, 12)
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Surah At-Tawba, 29)
It is He Who hath sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it). (Surah At-Tawba, 33)
The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the straight usage.So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together.But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves. (Surah At-Tawba, 36)
Nor should the Believers all go forth together: if a contingent from every expedition remained behind, they could devote themselves to studies in religion, and admonish the people when they return to them,- that thus they (may learn) to guard themselves (against evil). (Surah At-Tawba, 122)
He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!" (Surah Yunus, 22)
Say: "O ye men! If ye are in doubt as to my religion, (behold!) I worship not what ye worship, other than Allah.But I worship Allah - Who will take your souls (at death): I am commanded to be (in the ranks) of the Believers, (Surah Yunus, 104)
"And further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers; (Surah Yunus, 105)
He said: "Before any food comes (in due course) to feed either of you, I will surely reveal to you the truth and meaning of this ere it befall you: that is part of the (duty) which my Lord hath taught me.I have (I assure you) abandoned the ways of a people that believe not in Allah and that (even) deny the Hereafter. (Surah Yusuf, 37)
"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah.He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not (Surah Yusuf, 40)
And the Unbelievers said to their apostles: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! (Surah İbrahim, 13)
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him is duty due always: then will ye fear other than Allah. (Surah An-Nahl, 52)
So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah." (Surah An-Nahl, 123)
Such (being their state), we raised them up (from sleep), that they might question each other.Said one of them, "How long have ye stayed (here)?" They said, "We have stayed (perhaps) a day, or part of a day." (At length) they (all) said, "(Allah) (alone) knows best how long ye have stayed here....Now send ye then one of you with this money of yours to the town: let him find out which is the best food (to be had) and bring some to you, that (ye may) satisfy your hunger therewith: And let him behave with care and courtesy, and let him not inform any one about you. (Surah Al-Kahf, 19)
"For if they should come upon you, they would stone you or force you to return to their cult, and in that case ye would never attain prosperity." (Surah Al-Kahf, 20)
And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline).He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham.It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah.He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help! (Surah Al-Hajj, 78)
The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment. (Surah An-Nur, 2)
Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion - the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me.'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked. (Surah An-Nur, 55)
Now, if they embark on a boat, they call on Allah, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others)!- (Surah Al-Ankabut, 65)
So set thou thy face steadily and truly to the Faith: (establish) Allah.s handiwork according to the pattern on which He has made mankind: no change (let there be) in the work (wrought) by Allah. that is the standard Religion: but most among mankind understand not. (Surah Ar-Rum, 30)
Turn ye back in repentance to Him, and fear Him: establish regular prayers, and be not ye among those who join gods with Allah,- (Surah Ar-Rum, 31)
Those who split up their Religion, and become (mere) Sects,- each party rejoicing in that which is with itself! (Surah Ar-Rum, 32)
But set thou thy face to the right Religion before there come from Allah the Day which there is no chance of averting: on that Day shall men be divided (in two). (Surah Ar-Rum, 43)
When a wave covers them like the canopy (of clouds), they call to Allah, offering Him sincere devotion. But when He has delivered them safely to land, there are among them those that halt between (right and wrong). But none reject Our Signs except only a perfidious ungrateful (wretch)! (Surah Luqman, 32)
Call them by (the names of) their fathers: that is juster in the sight of Allah. But if ye know not their father's (names, call them) your Brothers in faith, or your maulas. But there is no blame on you if ye make a mistake therein: (what counts is) the intention of your hearts: and Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Ahzab, 5)
"We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" (Surah Sâd, 7)
Verily it is We Who have revealed the Book to thee in Truth: so serve Allah, offering Him sincere devotion. (Surah Az-Zumar, 2)
Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful. (Surah Az-Zumar, 3)
Say: "Verily, I am commanded to serve Allah with sincere devotion; (Surah Az-Zumar, 11)
Say: "It is Allah I serve, with my sincere (and exclusive) devotion: (Surah Az-Zumar, 14)
Call ye, then, upon Allah with sincere devotion to Him, even though the Unbelievers may detest it. (Surah Ghafir, 14)
Said Pharaoh: "Leave me to slay Moses; and let him call on his Lord! What I fear is lest he should change your religion, or lest he should cause mischief to appear in the land!" (Surah Ghafir, 26)
He is the Living (One): There is no god but He: Call upon Him, giving Him sincere devotion. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (Surah Ghafir, 65)
The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him). (Surah Ash-Shura, 13)
What! have they partners (in godhead), who have established for them some religion without the permission of Allah. Had it not been for the Decree of Judgment, the matter would have been decided between them (at once). But verily the Wrong- doers will have a grievous Penalty. (Surah Ash-Shura, 21)
Nay! they say: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we do guide ourselves by their footsteps." (Surah Az-Zukhruf, 22)
Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps." (Surah Az-Zukhruf, 23)
It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness. (Surah Al-Fath, 28)
Say: "What! Will ye instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth: He has full knowledge of all things. (Surah HAl-Hujurat, 16)
Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. (Surah Al-Mumtahana, 8)
Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong. (Surah Al-Mumtahana, 9)
